Traditionally, product labeling in horticulture has been done in black and white using thermal transfer printers. Today, black and white labels are also available in sheets, allowing printing with, for example, LED printers. Black and white printing is generally chosen when the need is simply to present product information, and labels are not intended to attract attention or create a selling impression.

Black and white printing is therefore the most economical option for printing weather-resistant materials.
